About Me: I am an amateur photographer with a keen interest in community theatre. Since 2015 I’ve been offering my photographic services on a free/koha basis to community theatres within the Wellington area. In that time I’ve photographed around 30 productions.
This usually entails headshots for cast bios, on-set shots with cast in costume, dress rehearsals, and photographs of the set.
Sometimes location shoots are required – these can also be accommodated.

Why am I doing this? I have a strong interest in community theatre but no interest in going on stage. So this is how I choose to offer my services. I’ve been very impressed with the standard of many of the community theatre productions I’ve attended, and it’s my mission to ensure the photography matches the excellent quality of production, set, lighting and costume, as well as actual performance.
Community theatres usually don’t have budget to hire a professional photographer which would typically be $1000+ for the services I offer, but will want something better than the photos snapped by someone wielding an iPhone at a dress rehearsal. I offer something that’s subjectively 75% as good as you’d get from a professional, for 0% of the price.
